Move AdSense to Top Gadget

If you recently took the steps to add AdSense to your blogger site you'll find that by default AdSense may not be at the top of your gadgets. If you wish to bring AdSense to the top for better visibility, you can move the gadget up in navigation bar. It is important to keep your AdSense bar in an easy to see location. If you choose not to have it at top it should be no farther down then the second gadget. All advertisements will fair better if they are easily visible as soon as a reader sees the first page.

To move your AdSense gadget up the list simply right click the AdSense toolbar and drag the gadget to the top of the Navigation.

Adding custom Channels to blogger

So although there is no default tool for AdSense to use blogger with Channels you can still get Channels on your blogger page.

eCPM

Cost per thousand. So I had a misconception on what eCPM meant, I thought this meant the cost that Google was charging the Advertiser to publish the AdSense Ad. This is not the case, so don't think that your getting the raw end of the deal with AdSense.

When reviewing you AdSense earning eCPM stands for cost per thousand. This figure is a calculation of how much an Advertiser earns in comparison to a thousand impressions. Let's say that you have an ad that earns a publisher $200.00 but takes 50,000 impressions to earn the $200.00. The eCPM is the difference between dollar and thousands of clicks, IE 200/50 = 4.00 eCPM.

AdSense in Blogger

One of the quickest ways to start earning money is to use AdSense in one of your blogs. Blogger gives you a simple way to get started. So if you like writing posts, get started with blogger and here's some simple steps to posts ads to your blogger web site. If your new to either Blogger or AdSense you'll need to set up accounts in both to does this tutorial.

So if you have a blogger site already, these steps will walk you through setting up AdSense for the first time.

Step 1. Log in to your blogger account.

Step 2. Choose Layout and Page Elements

Step 3. Choose Add A Gadget in the navigation section.

Step 4. Choose AdSense Gadget

Step 5. Start with a simple configuration.

Choose 180x150, Choose Text, Choose Blend, and Save.

I'll explain why these should be the most productive, on most blog sites later.

Step 6. View your blog your AdSense ad should display in the navigation now.

Tracking AdSense, in Blogger

AdSense has an easy tracking method by site URL. So if you maintain multi sites you should be able to track these sites through AdSense using the URL Channel. Turns out as soon as you use blogger they don't allow you to use URL Channels. Blogger also does no allow custom configuration to add a custom channel. I'm looking for the trick know and I'll post when I have a good solution for tracking either individual adds or custom URLs in AdSense using Blogger.

Bad Ads

On an occasion you'll notice that your AdSense Ads are so unrelated to your content that they stick out like a sore thumb.

Google is constantly analyzing the sites that it archives, so don't panic if this a new site it's likely that Google has not had a chance to spider the content to find relevant ads for your site.

Wait roughly two weeks before being concerned about the types of ad placed by Google AdSense.

If it really concerns you can limit the ads and configure the ads differently. For the most part the ads will come in line with your site in a few weeks.

Check the content of your website and very the quantity of keywords and their placement on your side. Keywords which you want the Google spider to pick up on should be in heading tag at the top of each content section. Don't flood these areas with false keywords the spider will recognize.

Write your content in a user friendly way that helps the user easily see the subject of the post or article. if it is not obvious to the reader the spider will not understand it either.

AdSense Skeptic

I started working with AdSense in my blog just over a week ago. I am an avid blogger but I have never attempted to advertise on any of my sites. The first thought of this was that it would distract from the readers intent in reading one of my posts. I primarily post technical information, from tutorials to self help. I post almost completely for my own learning experience. I find that by blogging things I have learned I build better building blocks to remember it. So when I add AdSense to my blogs I was surprised to see how many people truly visited my blog and followed through to an AdSense blog.

Needless to say this has given me a renewed will to build on my own blog content. Not only can I enjoy learning and teaching new things I can also make it profitable.

AdSense Getting Started

The first step in using any Google Service is sign up. The Google AdSense application requires a few pieces of information to get this process started.

Google AdSense

You'll need to provide an account and website address and agree to several conditions on the site primarily related to trying to defraud the AdSense service.

You should complete this task immediately since it may take several days for the approval process to occur.

If you have not yet created a website but still wish the get started with your AdSense enrollment, take the time now to create a site entry page. This will allow you to get started.

If you don't have a website yet, you can use Google's blogger tool but you will need to do this differently. I'll explain this later.

Profitable Adsesnse

Working with AdSense is easy. Learning to work with AdSense in a way that makes your site profitable, is a trial and error task. The blog will explain using AdSense on your site to make a profit. I will teach users to find the best way to advertise, their content.

AdSense is a Google service which allows users to sell space on their web pages based on a per click pay out. AdSense works with AdWords to allow buyers to buy pay per click Advertisement.
